I have a huge favor to ask of Cosplayers who are willing to help!

There is a local costume shop in Fort Collins that has been in business since 1981... but unfortunately they had a horrible halloween and pretty bad Tour de Fat and are now facing the possiblity of having to close their doors. This would honestly be a horrible loss for the northern Colorado cosplayers.

So if any of you are going to be in the area and would be willing to stop in a buy something or anything it would be greatly apperciated. They have a large selection of wigs and make-up as well as grab and go costumes all for decent prices.  The staff is awesome and very willing to help you.  They will even look up the character for you and order speciality things that they don't have in the store.  

I have been shopping there since I first started cosplaying and they have saved me many times with either a wig or make-up or in the case of NDK this year a wig brush.  Also, the staff is pretty knowledgeable about styling of wigs and make-up techniques too.

So hard to choose because she has such amazing work.  All of her pictures and costumes are so stunning.  They show so much talent and how much she loves her hobbies.  I love all the details she puts into her costumes and her photos.  I also love all the fun you can obviously see she has in her cosplays and during her photoshoots.... Some day I will have a photoshoot with her. *hinthint*

So I was just wondering if any of you have ever given out your number to someone you just met say at a bar or someone at work and then a little while afterwards regret doing so?  If so I would love to hear how you dealt with that.  

I did this tonight and am regretting doing it, but its too late to go back and not do it.  I'm just not sure how to handle this from here.


EDIT: I think this has entered a weird level.  He has called me once in the last 12 hours and texted me once also.  Both times telling me to call him.  He seemed like a cool guy but now I am getting a weird feeling about the whole situation.  I'm hoping this doesn't come back to bit me in the rear-end because he knows where I work.

So we have been having a pretty interesting weather lately... While the rest of the country got hit with lots of snow we got ice and bitter cold.  I swear there was at least a 1/8" of ice on my car one day... granted that may not seem like a lot but when its ice and you're trying to scrape it off in negative degree weather its a ton.  But now its snowing here... and has been all day.  I think there is at least 5 inches of snow out there. Which is why I haven't ventured out lately... declared a snow day for myself.  Granted it was already my day off but I had errands I could have ran today but didn't.

The rational part of my brain is saying its cold out there and the crazy costumer is saying "You know... its perfect weather for pictures in the snow", I am currently trying to appease the crazy side, aka Mik, with working on random costume pieces... a skirt, not sure what I'm going to use for yet, but who knows what costume might need a random skirt... maybe a new steampunk skirt.

I should be working on Animeland Wasabi stuff but that doesn't sound like fun right now.  I'm pretty sure that I am going to enter the contest but lots of stuff could happen between now and then.  Either way, I should be touching up contest pieces or making sure the costumes I want to take are in good working condition, or deciding what I want characters I want to take in general.

I have several pictures that I want to post, but unfortunately I can't think of any titles to name them so they remain unposted and "locked" away on my computer.  Maybe I'll show them to a couple people (you know who you are) and they can help me think of clever names for them.

The convention schedule this year is fairly relaxed... I'm probably only going to make it to 3 cons this year.  Unfortuneatly AO is out this year.  Just can't make it work, and to be honest I really didn't want to go.  Though I will miss all my friends who will be going and I wish much luck to those who are competing in the contest.  This leaves Wasabi in March, NDK in September, and Nebkon in November.  Though there a few that I want to go to but can't... don't have the time or the money.  But there is plenty of things to do here that are not a con but a good "excuse" to hang out with friends in costume... Pirate exhibit at the museum, ren fair, bowling, ice skating, photo shoots that I have been wanting to do for a while... you get the picture.

Anyway that is a random rant about random things... just trying to avoid cold and waiting for dinner to be done... and *ding* now it is... Later

Why does life make living so hard?  That has been the question that I have been asking myself for about a week now.  On August 27th, I found out that my old neighbor had taken his own life.  Its hard to get news like that for anyone but this one hit really close to home... I had lived next door to this man and his family for 10 years of my life... Pretty much from my birth till I was about 10 years old.  I grew up with his kids, went to their parties, he was pretty much like a second dad to me. And today was the memorial service for him. Its been a rough couple of days and I will miss him terribly.  I send my thoughts and wishes to his family.

Though the man that died was not the man I remember... Sure he was the same body but it was not his mind, it was someone else's mind.  Someone had taken over the man that I remember and had turned him into a drinking and drug doing monster.  He pretty much went crazy... to the point where he was a danger to himself and everyone else around him, including his own family.  It pains me that none of us were able to save him from his own mind.

But I refuse to think of his as this monster.  That is not what he would have wanted any who knew him to do.  He would have wanted us to remember him as the carefree man who loved life.  He was so full of life that it boggles the mind how he lost that spark.  But I will remember him as the man who always had a funny story or a great (somewhat crazy) idea for a party or a crane that became a swing and as the man who built the best bon-fires that usually had to be put out by the fire department.  He was an amazing man who lost his way.

So to Gene, May you find peace in the heavens above.  May you never be in pain any more and May you know just how you will be missed. Go with God and Be at Peace.




And as a small update for NDK, my costumes are coming along slowly.  But I have lost progress and motivation this week… hopefully I will get major work done in the next couple of days.
I plan on bringing Sarah from Suikoden III, C.C. from Code Geass,  Rave Larxene, maybe a pj costume, and of course my contest piece. Though I'm not sure when I will be wearing them.
